Riga, Latvia — September 21, 2026 — Mavimax SIA announced an updated roadmap for Enduro/X 9 middleware. The forthcoming version extends the core platform, introduces embedded scripting with Python, and adds Enduro/X Enterprise Edition (EE), a module providing new capabilities for distributed coordination, storage, observability, and cluster connectivity. Development began in 2022 and remains active, with several major components already implemented in the development version.
Enduro/X Core updates
Enduro/X Core is being updated to support the upcoming capabilities and integration with Enduro/X EE. These changes provide the foundation for the Transaction Manager Server (TMS) and Transactional Message Queue (TMQ) storage backends, distributed lock manager, and monitoring facilities being implemented for version 9. Features being added in Enduro/X 9 Core:
- Saga transaction support in Enduro/X Core, including the ability to combine Saga transactions with XA transactions. This will extend the transaction coordination options available to applications built on Enduro/X. (planned)
- Programming language support is also being extended. Enduro/X support for Rust is currently in progress, expanding the options available to developers building applications on the middleware. (in progress)
- A generic embedded embedded scripting interface (new APIs in Enduro/X Core) together with Enduro/X Python as its default scripting plugin (already implemented).
- Multiple XA Switch support per XATMI server or client (already implemented).
Enduro/X Enterprise Edition
Enduro/X 9 will ship with an additional module Enduro/X EE, which is licensed separately (and is closed source). Its roadmap brings together the following features:
- Distributed Lock Manager (DLM). A fault-tolerant distributed locking engine based on the Raft consensus algorithm provides a generic locking API and a replicated key/value store. It can also serve as a storage backend for the TMS transaction manager and TMQ persistent queue and provide locking service for Singleton process groups (already implemented).
- SQL storage backends. PostgreSQL and Oracle Database backends provide additional storage options for TMS and TMQ (already implemented).
- SSL support for tpbridge. SSL support adds encrypted communication to the cluster bridge (already implemented).
- Prometheus metrics exporter. The exporter will support integration with Prometheus monitoring environments (already implemented).
- Full OpenTelemetry support. Integration will cover logs, traces, and metrics, extending observability across Enduro/X applications and infrastructure (already implemented).
- SNMP support. SNMP AgentX support enables metrics to be exposed to infrastructure monitoring and management systems (already implemented).
- Multiple connections in tpbridge. This capability will enable automatic mesh connectivity and support fully cloud-native deployments, including Kubernetes environments (planned).
The full release of Enduro/X 9, including Enduro/X EE, is currently targeted for the second half of 2027. Customers interested in prerelease access to specific functionality are welcome to contact Mavimax.
